Armstrong Employees Warned of Further Job Cuts

Lancaster, PA, August 29--Armstrong will eliminate more jobs and reduce benefits to slash expenses by $50 million in both 2006 and 2007, employees have been told, according to the Lancaster New Era.

Consumer Sentiment Slips in August

Ann Arbor MI, August 26—-The University of Michigan's index of consumer sentiment declined to 89.1 from July's 96.5, the first drop since May. A preliminary estimate of the survey on Aug. 12 put the index at 92.7.
