Martha Inks Deal with TV Realty Show Producer

Chicago, September 23-- Martha Stewart could be headed to prime time -- once she's freed from jail, of course. Stewart said late Wednesday that she has signed deals with reality-TV guru Mark Burnett -- think "Survivor" and "The Apprentice" -- to advise and consult Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia on "various television matters," according to a press release. The Stewart-Burnett accord includes some rendition of a reality show featuring Stewart as well as coming up with ideas to turn the "Martha Stewart Living" daily syndicated show back on. CBS shut down the show after Stewart was convicted on charges relating to the sale of her ImClone shares. Once a popular cooking and crafts show, the program had experienced dropping audience numbers and advertising support since her indictment of the charges in early 2003.
