Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 4,000 in Week Ending Sept. 21
Washington, DC, September 26, 2024—In the week ending September 21, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 218,000, a decrease of 4,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor.
August New-Home Sales Down 4.7% from July But Up 9.8% YOY
Washington, DC, September 25, 2024—Sales of new single-family houses in August 2024 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 716,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, 4.7% below the revised July rate of 751,000 but 9.8% above the August 2023 estimate of 652,000.
