NWFA Working on International Appearance Standards
St. Louis, MO, June 30, 2008 – The National Wood Flooring Association said it has been working with industry leaders to develop an international guideline for wood flooring appearance standards.
The NWFA currently represents 580 wood flooring manufacturers, 182 of which are international. Recognizing that wood flooring is now a global market, the new standards would address international as well as domestic manufacturers in an effort to standardize wood flooring appearance throughout the world, the group said.
“Having industry standards that are developed and accepted internationally assures that all wood flooring manufacturers are on a level basis worldwide,” said Don Finkell, chairman of the NWFA Grading/Appearance Standards Committee, and an NWFA wood flooring manufacturer member with Anderson Hardwood Floors.
