Bob Spahn, Former VP with Shaw, Has Died

Dalton, GA, May 21, 2025-John Robert (Bob) Spahn, 72, former vice president with Shaw Industries, died May 19.

"My memories of Bob are the late 1980s-era Shaw Contract startup years, which were fun. Bob was one of the few peple at that time who knew the specified contract business, having come from Bentley. It was an exciting time that he helped lead. He had a big personality and was a creative guy with a flair for connecting with customers through big events. He helped Shaw create an early vision for the commercial market that led it to gain a dominant position quickly," says John Wells, former president of Interface Americas.

"Bob Spahn was the founding father of Shaw Contract-a visionary who helped shape the brand from its earliest days. His love for the brand, paired with the unique sense of joy he brought to every client and colleague, left a lasting impact on all of us. Bob will certainly be missed," says John Stephens, vice president of Shaw's Anderson Tuftex brand.
