Distributor Sales & Manufacturer Shipments Rose 1.3% in June
Washington, DC, August 17, 2022—The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for June was estimated at $1,858.1 billion, up 1.3% from May 2022 and was up 14.5% from June 2021, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Single-Family Housing Starts, Permits Slide 10.1% and 4.3%, Respectively

Home Depot's Q2 Sales up 6.5%, Earnings up 8%
Atlanta, GA, August 16, 2022 - The Home Depot reported sales of $43.8 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2022, an increase of $2.7 billion or 6.5% year-over-year. Comparable sales for the second quarter of fiscal 2022 increased 5.8%, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 5.4%.
Industrial Production Rises, Led by Automobile-Related Gains

Builder Confidence Declined Six Points in August to 49
Washington, DC, August 15, 2022— In another sign that a declining housing market has failed to bottom out, builder confidence in the market for newly built single-family homes fell six points in August to 49, marking the first time since May 2020 that the index fell below the key break-even measure of 50, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).
