March New Home Sales Up 20.7% from February, 66.8% YOY

Washington, DC, April 23, 2021—Sales of new single-family houses in March 2021 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,021,000, according to estimates released jointly by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, 20.7% above the revised February rate of 846,000 and is 66.8% above the March 2020 estimate of 612,000.

Washington, D.C., April 22, 2021–Total existing-home sales decreased 3.7% from February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.01 million in March, according to the National Association of Realtors. Sales overall climbed year over year, up 12.3% from a year ago (5.35 million in March 2020).
