January Housing Starts Down From December, But Rose 21.4% YOY

Washington, DC, February 19, 2020-Privately-owned housing starts in January were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,567,000, 3.6% below the revised December estimate of 1,626,000 but 21.4% above the January 2019 rate of 1,291,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
