Freeman & Hendry Discuss the USGBC’s PVC Draft Report

February 2, 2005—Bill Freeman, a consultant working with the Resilient Floor Covering Institute, (RCFI) and Graeme Hendry, Product Development and an Environmental Specialists, Tarkett Commercial discuss the recent draft report issued by the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) PVC Task Group. The reported stated that the environmental and health impacts of vinyl used in building products are comparable to those of competing materials. Freeman and Hendry talk about what this means to members of the floor covering industry, how the results might affect the LEED rating system and the forces within the environmental community that seek to prevent the use of PVC in the marketplace.
