Union Rejects Armstrong Contract Proposal
Beverly, WVA, Feb. 18, 2011 -- Teamsters Local 175 said it overwhelmingly rejected a contract proposal today by Armstrong Hardwood Flooring Co.
At issue are premium increases and benefit cuts on the 550 Teamsters working at the Beverly manufacturing facility, the union said.
The union said in a press release that the company's health care cost for this group has decreased by more than 21 percent since 2007.
The company's proposal was rejected by a 2-to-1 majority.
