Suspected Arsonist Arrested in Anderson Fire
Clinton, SC, October 20, 2006--A man is charged with arson in a fire that burned nearly half of a Clinton hardwood flooring plant earlier this month. Authorities say 21-year-old Daniel Robinson of Clinton faces a charge of second-degree arson in the October tenth fire at Anderson Hardwood Floors. Robinson was arrested today and is in jail, pending a bond hearing. Investigators haven't determined a motive. Authorities had said they were investigating whether the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction. The plant recently announced a seven-point-five (m) million dollar expansion that would add about a hundred jobs. Company officials say the company may now have to temporarily lay off as many as a hundred of its 300 employees while it rebuilds the damaged parts of the plant.
