Honolulu To Host NWFA 2005 Convention

Honolulu, HI, Aug. 28--The managers of the Hawaii Convention Center say they've got a new convention booking, just one day after a convention of executives who make decisions about where their own conventions are held, according to Pacific Business News. The National Wood Flooring Assiciation has reserved the Convention Center for a 2,000-attendee conference April 2005. The wood flooring convention is expected to generate $7 million in visitor spending and $579,000 in tax revenue for the state. "The Hawaii Convention Center is one of the best facilities I have ever seen and I was very impressed with the whole package Hawaii has to offer," said Edward Korczak, executive director of NWFA, adding that his organization will also consider Hawaii for its 2010 convention, marking its 25th anniversary. The Hawaii Convention Center projected that the wood flooring convention would generate nearly $7 million in visitor spending and $579,000 in tax revenue for the state.
