CRI Holds Annual Meeting
Dalton, GA, Nov. 9, 2011 -- The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) held its annual meeting today at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center.
U.S. Rep. Tom Graves of Georgia’s ninth district was the featured speaker. CRI chairman John Wells and president Werner Braun gave updates about the industry and the organization.
The new board of directors was announced at the meeting; Glen Hussman of Tandus, David Jolly of J+J, Jack Ganley of Mannington, Bob Shaw of Engineered Floors, and Chip Howalt of Textile Rubber and Chemical were advised that their duties began at the close of the annual meeting.
The Joseph J. Smrekar Memorial Award was presented to Rick Hooper of Shaw Industries.
CRI announced that it will cut its budget by a little more than 9% next year and will reduce its staff as well.
