Armstrong’s Design My Room Released to Flooring Re
Lancaster, PA, April 5--Armstrong Flooring Products, Inc. will offer independent retailers the ability to leverage its Design my Room CD in-store to drive store traffic and Armstrong flooring purchases. Design my Room is the industry’s first complete interactive room makeover tool, allowing flooring shoppers to visualize flooring options in digital photos of their own rooms. Design my Room allows consumers to virtually re-design their own room before investing in products and materials. They simply load a digital photo of the room, choose products that match their taste and budget, and immediately see the full picture of their room’s transformation. The program also allows the user to share their ideas with friends and family via e-mail and will create a shopping list based on the final selections. Until now, the computer program has been available exclusively at www.armstrong.com, as both a download and CD. Design my Room’s release to flooring retailers nationwide reflects Armstrong’s ongoing support of this key market segment. "Design my Room is a great tool for retailers. Not only will it help those customers who can’t decide, but it will help increase customer satisfaction, word of mouth and traffic flow through these stores," stated Jesse Engle, general manager, eMarketing, Armstrong. "Retailers are beginning to advertise 'bring in your photo, we’ll show you your new floor.'" Retailers can purchase 10-packs of Design my Room on Armstrongconnect.com or through their distributor. A 10-pack costs $89.90 and will arrive ready-to-display. The program is designed to operate on Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, ME and XP operating systems. "Design my Room will be a particularly useful sales tool for working with customers who insist on taking samples home. They can confirm their decision this way and retailers can save time and more quickly close deals," Engle emphasized. Retailers may choose to use Design my Room as a marketing tool to provide a truly unique service to their customers. They can simply request a digital photo of the room in question and work with each buyer to select the best flooring to match individual needs. Retailers may also sell the product for use in the home. Named as a 2004 Product of the Year by Women’s Day Specials Home Remodeling & Makeovers magazine, Design my Room has been recognized for its practical application and ease of use by media ranging from the Los Angeles Times to Reader’s Digest home specialty magazine, The Family Handyman. A unique program within the home improvement/re-decorating industry, Armstrong has secured paint pallets from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams to complement the flooring, ceiling and cabinet options offered by Armstrong brands. In addition to Armstrong sheet vinyl and vinyl tile, Genuine Linoleum, ceramic tiles and laminate floors, the program features hardwood floors from Armstrong, including Bruce Hardwood Floors, Armstrong Hardwood Flooring by Hartco and Robbins Fine Hardwood Flooring.
