Armstrong Cutting Back at Tennessee Wood Plant
Oneida, TN, Feb. 5, 2010--Armstrong Hardwood Flooring Co. said it is cutting production in Oneida and laying off 260 workers effective April 9.
The company will idle its strip mill, finish line and yard operations but will continue its parquet, floor care, chemical plant and warehousing operations, Armstrong said.
“We regret having to significantly scale back operations in Oneida. We consider this an action of last resort in response to current business conditions,” Riley said in an e-mail statement to Knoxville.biz.
