Domotex asia / ChinaFloor 2006 95% Booked

Shanghai, China, October 24, 2005--The flooring market has put a great deal of trust in the coming edition of Domotex asia / ChinaFloor (DACF) which will be held from March 28-30, 2006. The success of the last edition in March 2005 showed the huge potential in the Asian market for floor coverings. With 25,300 visitors from 87 countries the show has gained a firm position in the world calendar. The 2005 show had an exhibition space of 46,000 square meters, but for next year’s edition the organizers, VNU Exhibitions Asia and Deutsche Messe, have recently enlarged the reservation to an area of 69,000 square meters. Each of the four main segments of the exhibition has already shown strong growth. The wood and laminate section has shown the largest growth with all the major players having already booked their space. China is already the number one exporter of wood and laminate flooring to the U.S.A. The Krono Group will be strongly represented by Kronotex, Kronospan, and Krono Beijing. Other international players like Berry, Robina and Unilin will exhibit at the show. Companies like Allsun, Chinafloors, DER Floor, Elegant Living, Order and Sihe have booked enlarged spaces for the coming edition, signs of their astonishing growth. DACF in 2006 will be the largest flooring show for wood and laminate flooring in the world! Surveys have shown that export to overseas countries is the most important aspect of the show for domestic suppliers. Meanwhile, the growing domestic residential market will be of highest importance to the international exhibitors. The textile flooring part of DACF will increase more than 20%. Over 95% of the 2005 exhibitors have booked their space again and new exhibitors will include the new Beaulieu International Group, Beaulieu of America, and Oriental Weavers. International companies like Al-Sorayai, Balta, and Holland Carpet will again show their latest products to Chinese and overseas professionals. The domestic representation in textiles will again be strong with exhibitors like China World Best Group, Haima, Ri Zhao Dongsheng, and Shanhua, and the rapidly expanding Chinese hospitality business will be especially attracted by this segment. Resilient flooring will have special attention devoted to it at the fair. Companies are for the first time grouped together in the exhibition area. Furthermore, contract business in the Asian region shows very strong potential for manufacturers of resilient flooring as the number of new hospitals and offices will show double-digit growth in the coming years. Newcomers to the next edition will be Armstrong, Mondo, and Tarkett. Companies like Gerflor, LG, Lonseal, and M.J. will again present their market solutions. FloorTech Asia, an event unique to DACF, has been well accepted by the market. This four-day show (the first day will be 1 day before DACF to give the DACF exhibitors a greater possibility to visit FloorTech) presents the latest in technology and supplies to the flooring industry. Chinese manufacturers require many new machines and tools to keep up with their growing demand, with special focus on wood and laminate machinery and tools. In addition to machinery and tools, FloorTech Asia will also present the supplies crucial to the industry. Many exhibitors will present materials like timber and veneer, but also items such as paper for laminate and coatings for all segments will be presented. Homag, Interprint, Klumpp Coatings, Michael Weinig, PPG and V-Hold are just some of the professional companies presenting their high quality products at FloorTech Asia. “The exhibition field will be very strong. The most important part of the show is the visitors’ attendance. Every year the show has broken record after record. Next year we expect to welcome over 30,000 flooring professionals of which over 5,000 will be from overseas.
