Three-quarters of U.S. Consumers Still Shop Brick-and-Mortar

Washington, DC, September 28, 2017—The National Retail Federation’s first issue of its new Consumer View finds that despite the growth of ecommerce, only about a fifth of U.S. consumers are primarily online shoppers; more than three-quarters are shopping at bricks-and-mortar stores just as much as or more than they did a year ago.

Washington, DC, September 27, 2017—The Pending Home Sales Index retreated 2.6% to 106.3 in August from 109.1 in July. The index is now at its lowest reading since January 2016 (106.1), is 2.6% below a year ago, and has fallen on an annual basis in four of the past five months.
