Washington, DC, June 14--Retail sales fell 0.5% in May, according to the Commerce Department. Analysts had forecast a drop of 0.1%.
Chain Stores Sales Up Last Week
New York, NY, June 24--Chain store retail sales rose 0.6 percent in the week ended June 11, compared with a 0.4 percent rise the previous week, the International Council of Shopping Centers and UBS said in a joint report.
