Wootton to Retire From Columbia, Pray Appointed EV

Danville, VA, September 14, 2006--Columbia Flooring today announced the appointment of Greg Pray to the newly created position of executive vice president. Pray joins the company from high-pressure laminate manufacturer Nevamar Company LLC, where most recently he held the position of director of distribution and marketing services. He will work with Columbia President David Wootton to continue the expansion and development of the company’s various business units. “Greg's energy, enthusiasm and business acumen will be invaluable to Columbia,” Wootton said. “Especially as we face the task of competing in what has become a global industry, with all the attendant challenges and opportunities.” Wootton also said it had long been his intention to retire at some point to pursue many personal interests, which with a heavy workload and hectic travel schedule has not been possible thus far. Pray’s appointment is part of the transition which will take place at an appropriate time during 2007. Harry Demorest, president and CEO of Columbia Flooring’s parent company, Columbia Forest Products said, “We’re very pleased to bolster the senior management of our flooring group with an individual possessing such strength in both manufacturing and sales. His talents and experience will complement and perpetuate the impressive growth and industry presence David and his team have achieved, and will provide a seamless transition when David retires.” A wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Forest Products, Columbia Flooring is a leading manufacturer and marketer of hardwood and laminate flooring.
