Wisconsin Carpet Store Catches Fire

Grand Rapids, WS, March 30.2007--A carpet store near Wisconsin Rapids caught fire early Thursday morning, keeping fire crews on the scene busy all day--even after sundown.

Investigators say the fire started some time after midnight at Carpet City in Grand Rapids. No one was injured in the fire but the fire chief says the crews had to be especially careful because the carpet inside the store only accelerated the flames.

The chief added they evacuated one home near the store.
