Wilcom Updates Carpet and Rug Design Software

Norcross, GA, September 12, 2007--Mira – Carpet & Rug Design Software Version 6 will be officially launched at a special event in DaltonGeorgia on Monday, September 17.

“With its new user interface, including new screen layout, professionally designed icons and obvious operations, MIRA V6 aims at meeting our customers’ growing demands in ease-of-use and ease-of-learning for new users, as well as a consistent and powerful set of design and simulation tools for experienced users,” said Bill Wilson, technical director for Wilcom International.

MIRA V6 builds on its basic functions including real-time simulation for woven and tufted carpets and rugs, and extensive production reporting for operations management.

Mira software will also be displayed at Floortek 2007, where Wilcom will display an array products for the carpet and rug manufacturing industry, including the AutoTuft robotic carpet tufting machine.

AutoTuft robotic machine can tuft detailed combinations of cut pile and loop pile, which Wilcom said opens substantial potential for creating unique textures and effects that are not possible in other hand-tufting methods.

Technical Director and co-inventor of the AutoTuft Loop capability Bill Wilson, said, "What is most significant is that the machine switches automatically between cut and loop pile very quickly without operator intervention – meaning that there are no stops or head lifts even for small texture effects."
