WFCA President D. Christopher Davis Dies
Anaheim, CA, Feb. 24, 2012 -- World Floor Covering Association President and CEO D. Christopher Davis died Feb. 22.
A memorial service will be announced later.
Davis was named CEO of Western Floor Covering Association in August 1994. He completed the merger with the American Floorcovering Association in January 1995, which led to the creation of the World Floor Covering Association.
From 1995-2000, Davis oversaw all aspects of the Surfaces trade show. He negotiated the sale of Surfaces to Hanley-Wood Exhibitions in 2000, while retaining WFCA sponsorship rights to the show for a minimum of 25 years.
Davis was also president and CEO of WFCA Services, the independent subsidiary of the World Floor Covering Association, which offers worker’s compensation insurance in California. He was also president and CEO of the Floor Covering Industry Foundation, the charitable organization dedicated helping industry members who experience catastrophic illnesses or severe disabilities.
He was also chairman of the board of directors, Floor Covering Business-to-Business Association, which is involved in electronic commerce in the flooring industry.
