Wet Q2 Weather Conditions Impacted Construction Activity

Charlotte, NC, July 7, 2025-Truist analyzed Q2 weather conditions in relation to construction.

“Our quarterly weather checks showed that conditions were once again very wet in some key areas in the U.S. Typically, this results in decreased construction days and delayed demand for outdoor-focused products and construction materials. This primarily impacted the Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast, thus companies over- indexed to these regions should see more significant impacts. Weather has been generally poor for construction for several quarters going back to early 2024. Note that rainy weather tends to be a transitory issue, and delayed projects are eventually worked through. It does, however, impact the timing of price increase realization.”
