Wellmade Organizing Chinese Quake Relief
St. Louis, MO, May 27, 2008--We have seen the pictures and read the headlines recounting the devastation and suffering in China due to the 7.9 earth quake that hit the Sichuan province on May 12. Reports say an estimated 65,000 people are dead; more than a quarter of a million people are injured, 5 million are homeless and tens of thousands remain missing across a wide area while danger from weakened dams pose yet more threat.
Wellmade, a manufacturer of bamboo and hardwood out of Nanjing, Jiangsu, China, has provided a way for people in the U.S. flooring industry to send relief funds directly to the Chinese Red Cross working in the affected area.
A Wells Fargo bank account in the name of China Earth Quake Relief has been established and is ready to receive donations. According to Wellmade President Allen Chen, his company will pay all expenses associated with transferring funds, and Wells Fargo will wire 100 percent of the funds to the Red Cross Society of China.
To donate directly to the Chinese Red Cross working in the affected areas, visit any branch of Wells Fargo Bank and donate to the China Earthquake Relief Account.
