Weekly Same-Store Sales up 1.2%

Washington, DC, November 21, 2006–Retailers’ same-store sales rose 1.2% in the week ended Nov. 18, rebounding from the prior week, data compiled by the International Council of Shopping Centers and UBS Securities show.

On a year-over-year basis, the growth rate amounted to 2.2%.

Mike Niemira, ICSC’s chief economist, reiterated the monthly same-store sales are likely to “grow by 3% or slightly below that mark,” as shoppers begin working down their holiday gift lists in earnest.
