Waukesha Sells Distribution Unit to Home Depot

Milwaukee, WI, February 28, 2007--Geo-Synthetics Inc., a Waukesha distributor and installer of erosion control products, has sold its chain of construction supply centers in North and South Carolina to a subsidiary of The Home Depot Inc.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal was announced Tuesday by Grace Matthews, the Milwaukee-based investment bank that advised Geo-Synthetics on the transaction.

Geo-Synthetics sold its GSI General Materials division to White Cap Construction Supply Inc., part of Home Depot Supply Inc., and a subsidiary of home improvement retailer The Home Depot (NYSE: HD), Atlanta. GSI distributes products throughout the Carolinas, and provides outlets where Home Depot Supply did not have coverage from its existing Hughes and White Cap Construction Supply centers, said Grace Matthews' vice president Tammie Miller.

Geo-Synthetics retains its Waukesha-based liner and erosion control business.

Geo-Synthetics is a full-service distributor, fabricator and installer of geo-synthetics and erosion control materials.
