Water Crystal Mosaics Launched by Crossville

Crossville, TN, Jun. 4--Crossville’s new Water Crystal Mosaics, designed by Boyce & Bean, are made of cast, translucent glass that is textured front and back to capture, reflect and refract light. Providing a shimmering, ever-changing light show on floors, walls and countertops, Water Crystal Mosaics are available in nine water-inspired colors in three finishes: clear, frosted or iridescent. Each mosaic tile is 13/16" square and 5/16" thick (the same thickness as Crossville’s Radiance Glass). The tiles are face-mounted on paper sheets in 13 rows of 13 tiles, with narrow 1/16" grout joints. Each sheet measures approximately .92 sq. ft. To maximize the design possibilities, Crossville is also offering ten combinations of mosaic colors and finishes, mounted on sheets. Five combinations feature one color in the three available finishes (clear, frosted and iridescent), randomly mixed for a moving, almost liquid, monochromatic pattern. The other five combinations contain a myriad of randomly mixed colors in only the clear finish. These combinations feature one of three different color combinations: a pastel mix, a mid-tone mix or a dramatic, contrasting mix of mosaics. This allows the designer or homeowner to effortlessly create a combination of exquisite hues on walls, floors or countertops. The Water Crystal Mosaics are the latest addition to Crossville’s Illuminessence Glass program, which includes Prism Glass, Prism Glass Listellos and Radiance Glass. Environmentally responsible, the entire program is manufactured using a quantity of recycled glass. “The mosaics program offers a wide variety of choices for enhancing the installation of Illuminessence Glass on walls, floors or countertops,” says Barbara Schirmeister, design and color consultant to Crossville. “It is equally handsome used on its own or combined with a variety of ceramic/porcelain, stone or metal tile in residential or commercial applications.” Because the Water Crystal Mosaics are a similar thickness to other tiles, specifiers and consumers can use them as accent tiles to create a unique look at a lower price point.
