Warren Buffett EBay Lunch Nets $351,100

Omaha, NE, July 1—-A lucky bidder put in the winning bid of $351,100 in the EBay auction for lunch with the Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett. The winning bid beat the next highest bid by $100. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Glide Foundation, which provides social services to the poor and homeless in San Francisco. The auction, now in its third year, offers the highest bidder and seven companions a lunch with Warren Buffett at a "mutually agreed upon time, date and place." Bidding began at $25,000 a week ago. For his part, Buffett has said he would make the lunch as worthwhile as possible for the winning bidder, giving them leeway in how to conduct it.
