Walt Legenstein Receives Outstanding Service Award

Millersville, MD, May 5--Walt Legenstein of Certified Carpet in Lancaster, Pa., was recently recognized by the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) for his outstanding contributions to the industry over the past two decades. He was presented with the association’s Helen Bradley Distinguished Service Award at their annual convention last month in Palm Springs, Calif., for his leadership, support and guidance in the cleaning and restoration industry. Legenstein, a member of ASCR since 1970, served as the association’s president in 1990, had previously held the position of treasurer, and also served as the chairman of the Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Institute. “He has served on so many committees for ASCR that they are too numerous to mention,” said Buzz Dohanian, CRS, as he presented the service award. “His company is the type of success story for which our industry is famous.” Legenstein has also been actively involved in his community, serving as a School Board member, and as a chair and a member of the United Way and Chamber of Commerce. Previously, he was named Distinguished Citizen of the Year and Business Person of the Year in his community.
