Von Kantzow Teams With Domco Tarkett
Farnham, Quebec, Jan. 13--Domco Tarkett has selected Lars von Kantzow, former president and CEO of Pergo and now president of TriCrown Consulting in Cary, North Carolina, to spearhead a corporate identity and branding program, according to Ulf Mattsson, president and CEO of Domco Tarkett. ³The Domco Tarkett Group is the result of a series of mergers and acquisitions and our portfolio of brands are a reflection of our various corporate heritages,² said Mattsson. ³It is now time for us to reevaluate our company as a whole, examine the position that each of our brands holds in the marketplace and develop a blueprint that will allow us to realize our full potential in the industry. ³Lars von Kantzow is the ideal partner for Domco Tarkett as we launch this important program. His track record with Pergo is a case study in corporate positioning and branding and his knowledge of the industry and the North American market will be invaluable to us as we proceed.² ³This is going to be a very exciting project, especially considering Domco Tarkett¹s history, its many brands and its diverse global and cultural background,² said von Kantzow. ³Our goal is to help the company and its divisions identify who they are, how they should position themselves in the marketplace and how to then effectively communicate this positioning to their customers.² During the coming months, TriCrown Consulting will conduct one-on-one interviews and focus groups with all levels of Domco Tarkett employees throughout the various divisions. In addition, von Kantzow will interview representatives from all customer segments, including distributors, retailers, buying groups, flooring contractors, architects and specifiers, among others. Von Kantzow brings to the Domco Tarkett project more than 25 years of corporate marketing and branding experience, including five years with Procter & Gamble in Europe. In 1993 he was named president and CEO of Pergo, Inc., the newly created North American subsidiary of Perstorp Flooring AB, Sweden. During his tenure with the company, von Kantzow is credited with making Pergo the leading laminate manufacturer in North America and the Pergo brand one of the most recognized in flooring. Von Kantzow resigned from Pergo in late 2002 to form his own management consulting firm. ³We are very pleased to have Lars¹ corporate, marketing and branding experience working for Domco Tarkett as we embark on this new chapter in our company¹s history,² said Mattsson.
