Välinges Granted First Machine License

Viken, Sweden, January 11, 2007--Välinge has granted its first machine license for an edge-covering device to the German machine producer Schiele Maschinenbau Gmbh. The Niederzissen based company has obtained global license rights for production, marketing and sales of an edge coloring and coating machine developed by Välinge. The compact device can easily be built in existing production lines and could be used to apply for oil, varnish, paint and other liquid coatings on a bevel or a decorative groove in floorboards. The application is very precise, easy to handle and maintain. The technology is based on a so-called air knife, which is used in combination with a wheel to apply and position chemicals. Several flooring producers are already using the new Välinge edge-covering equipment. Välinge's CEO Darko Pervan says: "We are proud to be able to announce this new co-operation on Domotex 2007. Välinge has now opened a totally new field for its R&D activities and intends to launch during 2007 a number of other inventions, all mainly directed to production of new flooring products. The company has been a trendsetter for mechanical locking systems and has now the intention to take its R&D activities also to other fields of the flooring industry". A demonstration machine will be shown at the Välinge booths at Domotex and Surfaces 2007.
