Välinge To Show New Powder Printing Technology
Viken, Sweden, Dec. 9, 2009--Välinge said that a range of wood fiber floors comprising new solid "paper free" surface layers produced with its wood powder technology will be introduced at Domotex 2010.
The company said the production technology, where a powder based solid layer replaces printed decor paper and thin overlay paper, provides superior impact and wear properties and flexible design features, which are impossible to distinguish from real products such as stone and ceramics.
Very deep embossing, solid bevels, decorative grooves and crystal clear surfaces without gray overlays will be presented at Domotex and Surfaces.
All floorboards could be unique without repetition effects from printing cylinders and an endless variety of new designs could be introduced in the production line within a few minutes.
Välinge believes the powder technology will most likely replace paper technology in the same way as DPL replaced HPL and mechanical locking replaced tongue and groove.
Välinge said conventional laminate presses are used with the new technology.
