Välinge Suing Egger After Austrian Patent Ruling
Viken, Sweden, July 23, 2009--Välinge said it has decided to pursue legal action against Egger after a ruling by the Austrian Supreme Patent and Trademark Senate to nullify Välinge's European Angle-Snap Method Patent.
Välinge said it has successfully defended the validity of this Method Patent three times.
Välinge said the nullification decision is "extremely unfair and incorrect."
Välinge estimates that more than 100 million square meters of angle-snap products have been sold by Egger in countries other than Austria, mainly Germany,
Valinge said the reasoning of OPM "is very strange and difficult to understand."
It said the reasons for the decision deviate from common practice in patent litigation.
