Välinge, Photocat Marketing New Surface Tech

Viken, Sweden, Jan. 4, 2010--Välinge Photocat AB, a new company formed by Välinge (50%) and Photocat A/S (50%), is commercializing a new surface technology featuring nano technology.

The companies have had a joint development project for several years to create "Active Surfaces" by incorporating photo catalytic nano particles into the surface of mainly wood and laminate floors.

Photo catalytic nano particles are activated by indoor light and they provide anti bacterial surfaces, easy to clean surfaces, and reduction of formaldehyde.

Surface technology has gradually evolved to one of the main technology fields for Välinge.

The cooperation also opens up the Välinge license base of around 100 world leading flooring producers which are potential licensees for the new Active Surface Technology.
