Viken, Sweden - November 27, 2006--According to an announcement from Välinge Innovation, the U.S. patent office has granted the company a new patent, "Herringbone" US 7,127,860 B2, 31/10/2006.
The company said the granted patent covers floor panels provided with a mirror inverted mechanical locking system. Once these panels are installed the consumer will have a perfect copy of the traditional herringbone wood floor, but installed in a much faster way and at a significant lower cost.
The herringbone patent also protects a system for making such a flooring, and by this protected system an installation in a herringbone pattern is facilitated. The panels are provided with the outstanding Välinge angle lock and/or snap lock providing a strong mechanical locking produced in a cost efficient way.
