Välinge Doubles Down on Patent Validity

Viken, Sweden, September 28, 2017-The Curaçao-based company Innovations4Flooring recently filed a petition for Inter Partes Review (IPR) of the Välinge patent U.S. Patent No 7,398,625.

All documents referred to in the IPR were already considered by the Patent Office during the examination of the patent and are therefore on record. It is Välinge’s strong belief that the claims of the patent will be found patentable by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

U.S. Patent No 7,398,625 is part of an extensive patent protection that Välinge is offering its licensees. The protection comprises about 180 Välinge U.S. patents and applications related to locking for long and short side of floor boards. Additionally, it also includes exclusive or semi-exclusive sublicensing rights in relation to patents from third parties such as as Classen, Unilin, IVC, Mannington and US Floors, thereby providing a very broad protection.
