Välinge Develops New Flooring Product

Viken, Sweden - November 23, 2007-- Välinge has introduced a new Wood Fiber Floor called the WF Floor that’s a result of the company’s new research and development effort.

The company says the new floor is stronger than any laminate flooring on the market, with a wear resistance that’s 10 times higher than other laminate.

Välinge said ten production steps have been reduced to three because no impregnation of papers and lamination is required. In addition, the floors can be recycled completely and converted into new floor panels.

The new Välinge research and development center in Viken will be used to optimize the production process and to develop new and more advanced methods to create decorative surface effects. A pilot line will be operational at the end of 2008.

Välinge will present the new WF Flooring to some of its main licensees during December. Commercial products will be on the market in 2009.
