Välinge Calls Pergo Press Release 'Misleading'

Viken, Sweden, June 10, 2010--Välinge has taken issue with a recent Pergo press release regarding Pergo's relationship with Mannington Mills.

The company said the release from Pergo gives the incorrect impression that Pergo could grant licenses on 5G technology and that their patents also cover the 5G side push versions.

Välinge said that Pergo has no rights to grant any licenses on any 5G system developed and patented by Välinge. It said Pergo has no known U.S. patents that are relevant for the side push technology such as 5G+ or 5G-S.

Välinge also noted that the only PerfectFold system utilizing fold down technology that Pergo has on the market in the U.S. and Europe is a Välinge 5G system comprising a flexible bristle tongue that Välinge developed and licensed to Pergo in 2007 and for which Pergo pays substantial license fees to Välinge.

Välinge said that Mannington is only buying long plank products from a Välinge licensee who has a Välinge 5G Original license.
