Vitromex Opens Laredo Distribution Center

San Antonio, TX, June 19, 2006--Vitromex USA announced the opening of its new distribution center in Laredo, Texas. The new distribution center was built in response to increased customer demand for Vitromex products throughout the United States. The new 145,000-square-foot facility will warehouse all Vitromex products, including the newly launched Artemis Impervious Glazed Porcelain tiles, as well as the outsourced products. Additionally, the new distribution center has a side yard of 50,000 square feet, and 20 loading docks. “Vitromex has experienced tremendous growth over the last couple of years and we needed to take steps to keep up with this demand,” said Sergio Cardenas, president of Vitromex USA. “Vitromex is a leader in the ceramic tile industry and we continue to be committed to providing a high-quality, stylish product at a competitive price. The new distribution center allows us more flexibility in delivering our product more quickly.” With all flooring products available in one central location, Vitromex USA is now able to offer a 48-hour turnaround on full truckload orders. “Trucks will be ready to ship product within 48 hours of receiving an order, which allows for faster delivery to distributors,” said Ricardo de la Cabada, operation manager of Vitromex USA. Last fall, Vitromex expanded its current manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosi to produce Artemis, which is warehoused in Texas to guarantee immediate availability. The first collection from Artemis debuted five new series at Surfaces 2006 and includes Milano, Roca del Sol, Sierra Madre, Tuscany and Cotto Real. Vitromex USA, Inc., is a San Antonio-based ceramic tile company owned by Mexico’s Grupo Industrial Saltillo. Vitromex is known for its production and commercialization of ceramic floor and wall tile, and now is in production of impervious glazed porcelain floor tiles.
