Veteran Home Depot Executive Leaving

Atlanta, GA, July 10, 2006--Home Depot said that Tom Taylor, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing, will leave the chain of home-improvement stores at the end of the year. The company said it intends to forge a longer-term consulting agreement with Taylor following his departure. "I have decided that it is the right time for me to take a break, spend time with my family and to consider what I'm going to do next in life," said Taylor, who joined Home Depot in 1983. Home Depot on Thursday said it may return to reporting same-store sales, just weeks after it announced it would stop the quarterly reports that are a key measure of performance. The company is under investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for possible manipulation of option grants to employees.
