Van Pelt Named VP at FloorExpo

Marietta, GA, May 5, 2006—FloorExpo is pleased to announce the promotion of Kathy Van Pelt to vice president of member programs and services. In this newly appointed position, Van Pelt will work with FloorExpo's members to ensure they take full advantage of the profitable training, purchasing, marketing and technology programs available through Home Solutions and MultiFamily Solutions. Van Pelt started with FloorExpo in 2004 and has been working as director of marketing technology. During this time, Van Pelt developed many tools and programs that help make Home Solutions and MultiFamily Solutions members more valuable to their respective customers. A recent example is the new Home Solutions Design Community--the first consortium of design consultants and design center managers in the new construction business. Within this program are valuable tools developed from discussions with FloorExpo’s Home Solutions Design Community Advisory Board. The Board consists of eight design center and operations vice president / managers who directly impact $800 million worth of flooring and other interior selections. Through consistent communication via educational seminars, discussion boards, online training, and conference calls, members are able to heighten the skills of design consultants, improve upgrade percentages, maximize revenue opportunities and enhance the “homebuyer experience.” “Our new Home Solutions Design Community is just one of the many outstanding contributions Kathy has made to FloorExpo,” says Smith. “Her background in marketing, education and technology has given her a real talent for developing and executing programs. As she steps to a new level of leadership, Kathy will be a driving force in our efforts to ensure long-term member satisfaction.” “I enjoy being part of the FloorExpo team,” adds Van Pelt. “It is rewarding to see how much our members benefit from our programs. As we grow and expand our services, it becomes increasingly important that our members understand the full breadth of our offerings and the many ways we give them to maintain their competitive advantage in the homebuilder and multi-family industry.”
