Valinge, Unilin Agree on Multifit Products

Viken, Sweden, July 12, 2010--Unilin and Välinge said that they have reached a non-assertion agreement regarding Unilin's Multifit products for wood, meaning that Välinge will not assert its 5G fold down patents against the current products.

In order to offer the market a more secure position regarding Unilin's own Multifit wood products in relation to Välinge's 5G fold down patents, the companies said they have reached an understanding.

Valinge said in a press release that Multifit by Quick-Step and Unilin is an advanced version of the snap tab systems.

"We are pleased that Unilin has also introduced fold down systems for wood and that the parties have reached a reasonable commercial solution for the protection under the Välinge 5G patents," says Per Nygren, director of fold down technology for Valinge.

The parties have had a cross license agreement for many years.
