Valinge Terminates 2007 Agreement With Pergo
Viken, Sweden, Sept. 16, 2010--Valinge said it has terminated a settlement agreement with laminate maker Pergo that it signed in 2007.
The settlement, which predated Pfleiderer's purchase of Pergo, covered an ongoing patent dispute related to one-piece locking systems
Valinge said that Pergo hasn't acted in accordance with the "spirit of the agreement."
Valinge said that Pergo received technical support and a license to produce the Välinge 5G fold down system and Välinge has the right to license 5G systems with an indemnification on the Pergo patents. The parties, Valinge said, agreed that Välinge had the right to sublicense also other Pergo patents.
The 5G license that Pergo has received is for now still in force and Välinge said the license income from Pergo that will be used to finance legal actions against Pergo.
