Valinge Says Revenues, Earnings Grow
Viken, Sweden, Nov. 2, 2010 -- Välinge said it continues to increase revenues and earnings in spite of higher research and development costs, mainly due to introduction of new technology and improved market conditions.
Välinge said it has continued to increase its R&D resources during the recent financial crises, with the goal of investing about 30% of the license revenues in R&D.
A major part of the R&D costs are now related to the new powder and surface technology that the company said shows extraordinary results.
Välinge said it believes that powder technology will replace ceramics and a major part of traditional paper based laminate floors.
In addition, Valinge said the development of the fold down technology is almost completed. The total cumulated development cost for this technology exceeds 25 MEUR. More than 20 different versions of fold down systems have been developed and four versions are presently commercially available. The fold down project is a commercial success.
