Valinge Says License Volume Sign Market Improving
Viken, Sweden, July 31, 2009--Valinge said that it license volumes improved in the second quarter, rising about 15% from the first quarter 2009.
It called the increase a clear sign that the laminate and wood markets are improving.
“Our license income from more than 100 licensees increased more than expected mainly as we benefited from higher sales related to introduction of new technology and several new license agreements," said CEO Darko Pervan.
"We do see however a clear improvement of the global wood and laminate flooring market even if these additional license volumes are excluded.”
Laminate floorings show a more positive trend than wood floorings probably due to the fact that consumers prefer more cost efficient products, the company said. Wood floorings are still under pressure from low building activities.
