Valinge Herringbone Patent Upheld in Europe
Viken, Sweden, Oct. 11, 2010--Välinge said its European “Herringbone” patent has been upheld by the European Patent Office.
The company sait it now has 15 patents that have successfully survived challenge.
The Board of Appeal of EPO confirmed in a final decision the previous decision of the Opposition Division to maintain the Välinge herringbone patent as granted.
The maintained patent protects a flooring of laminate floorboards that can be locked along its long edges by inward angling and installed in a herringbone pattern long edge against short edge.
Välinge launched small laminate floor boards installed in advanced patterns such as herringbone at Domotex 2003.
