USGBC Names Lohnes LEED-EB Core Committee

Washington, D.C., November 7, 2005--The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) today announced that George R. Lohnes, vice president at UNICCO Service Company of Newton, Massachussetts has been appointed to the organization's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Existing Buildings (LEED-EB) Core Committee. Commenting on Lohnes' appointment, Stuart Carron, LEED-EB Core Committee chairman, said, "We are pleased to have George on the LEED-EB Core Committee. It brings together a broad array of creative individuals who have the opportunity to truly influence and improve the nation's commercial building infrastructure. George's insights into green cleaning and green building facilities services practices will be helpful." "The USGBC is doing important work," said George Keches, UNICCO president and COO. "It is important for UNICCO to contribute our time and talent to help industry achieve a higher level of environmental stewardship. George has spearheaded our green cleaning initiative, developed guidelines and carried the message to our operations people and our customers.
