U.S. Main Importer of Iranian Carpets

Tehran, Iran, April 4, 2007--Iran exported more than 100 million dollars of Persian carpets to the United States during the past Iranian year (ended March 20, 2007), the director of the National Carpet Center of Iran said.

Morteza Faraji added this accounted for 60 percent of Iran's carpet exports in the said period. The Arab states of the Persian Gulf region are also among the main importers of Persian carpets. "We have planned to hold a number of solo exhibitions of Iranian carpets in these countries this year," the NCCI director told ISNA on Monday.
