US Floors Preparing $10 Million Expansion

Dalton, GA, Oct. 1, 2008--Dalton’s US Floors, maker of Natural Cork, is reportedly planning a $10 million expansion that will add 15 new jobs, according to a Dalton newspaper.

US Floors purchased a 99,232 square foot building from Mohawk Industries this spring. The report did not say if this is the property that will be expanded.

The Dalton-Whitfield Joint Development Authority board voted Tuesday to approve the possible issue of industrial revenue bonds for the project.

The expansion will be eligible for Level 2 property tax breaks under the authority’s tax incentives policy. Suggs said that would give them a 100 percent break on the new development for the first year, 75 percent in the second year, and 50 percent in years three and four. They would pay 100 percent tax on the new development after that.
