Dalton, GA, February 17--US Floors bought Natural Cork and is now operating under the brand names Natural Floors and Natural Cork.
Piet Dossche, owner of US Floors, is now the CEO of the combined companies. Philippe Erramuzpe of Natural Cork is the COO.
"Natural Cork is a name that’s much better known at the retail level and in the markets with the retailers," Dossche said. "It’s more of a brand name than US Floors so we are going to go to the marketplace under Natural Cork for cork products and Natural Floors for any type of other products that we are introducing like handscraped antique, distressed products or a bamboo collection as well will be sold under Natural Floors.
"We want to bank on the name that is already out there and build from there," he said. "We will continue to enhance our awareness in the marketplace with the retailers of the Natural Cork name and bring in new collections under the Natural Floors name by the same sales team and organization."
The deal closed at the end of December 2004. Natural Floors will remain at its offices in Dalton and Natural Cork is staying at its offices in Augusta, Georgia.
